This summer I took a yoga trip to California with my favourite skincare brand to hand – SkinCycles They have introduced a further modernisation to their sun protection – with the expansion of its cult-favourite DNA Defence SPF and the debut of the Solar Serum SPF 50—two advanced formulations designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s skin. I love both of these products; the DNA Defence SPF has a tint and so I wear this instead of foundation, as I’m not a fan of the latter.
My skin can breathe, but also quietly blends imperfections. The confidence of sun protection was a must… which stopped me getting sun damage on my recent trip to Malibu! I also use it back in Blighty every day. The green tea extract, vitamin E, copper, tripeptide-1 and chamomile extract helps defend against environmental damage and soothes and calms my skin. Heaven!

Solar Serum SPF 50 — £120 (3oml)

This is an ultra-light, silky formula with high-performance UVA and UVB protection, while enhancing the skin’s natural radiance. It really glides on so seamlessly, leaving an undetectable, soft-focus finish that layers effortlessly under makeup or wears beautifully on its own – it is a texture I have never experienced before in an SPF.

It is interesting to note that different wavelengths travel to different depths within the skin. UVB stays at the surface, while UVA and HEV reach deeper layers where collagen, elastin, and melanocytes live. Infrared travels the deepest, transferring heat that can accelerate oxidative stress. This is all detail that we can take or leave, because Skincycles has done all the research for us.

Their whole philosophy is to create and maintain healthy skin cycles with a whole range of skincare products. I love them and have really seen a difference in my skin. I have always had problematic skin and this changes everything!
